TV actors who quit work for their family life






Aditi Shirwaikar: The actress, who has been part of TV shows like Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Shararat, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Baat Hamari Pakki Hai has been away from the small screen since her last show, 26/11 went off-air in 2013. The actress is busy taking care of husband Mohit and her restaurant business. Aditi is married to Kulfi Kumar Bajewala actor Mohit and the latter credits his wife for all the success he has received. He even stated in one his interviews that his wife has been there with him through all the thick and thin.


Balika Vadhu's Anjum Farooki aka Gauri

Balika Vadhu fame Anjum Farooki, who became a household as Gauri, bid goodbye to the industry after her marriage. The actress opted for an arrange marriage in 2013 with Saqib Syed, who's in merchant navy. After tying the knot, Anjum while talking to the Timesofindia had stated that she misses facing camera, but acting in a daily soap was not feasible for her. She is enjoying her wedding life and is away from the glitz and glamour.

Sweta Keswani

Kahanii Ghar Ghar Ki fame Sweta Keswani has been on a hiatus ever since she met Ken Andino in New York City. The two had their first child in October 2013. Sweta has been enjoying motherhood ever since and has only made brief appearances on shows.

Disha Vakani

Actress Disha Vakani popular as Dayaben of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, who is on a sabbatical ever since the birth of her daughter, is not going to make a comeback to the show soon. The actress, who was seen in a few episodes recently for a brief period, has decided to take care of her child and rejoin when the time is right. Fans had been asking her to rejoin the show soon but Disha put up a post on social media saying she would love to join but the circumstances don’t allow her. In a post, the actress shared the look of her famous Dayaben avatar and captioned it as, "Everyone is telling me to come back on show especially you all peoples. I really missed the trkmoc . I likely to come on show. But circumstances doesn't favour this. Thanks for understanding and supporting me ! Keep loving and watching Tarak mehta ka ooltah chashmah. #Dishadiloves #trkmoc."

Dimpy Ganguli

Dimpy Ganguli, who got divorced from Rahul Mahajan in 2014, remarried in 2015. This time it was Dubai-based businessman, Rohit Roy. Dimpy shifted base and has been off the small screen ever since. She had a daughter Reanna in 2016. It doesn't seem that the actress in in a mood to return to TV anytime soon.

Amita Chandekar, who rose to fame as Malini in Piya Ka Ghar, left the world of entertainment after she got married to an NRI in Mumbai in 2014. Ever since she has not been in the limelight.

Rucha Hasabnis

Rucha Hasabnis — better known as Rashi of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya quit the TV industry to get married to the man of her dreams. The actress is a qualified Company Secretary and acting happened to her by chance. After her engagement, Rucha in an interview with the TimesofIndia in 2014 had spoken about quitting acting. She had then stated, "I have made up my mind and I don’t want to continue acting. But I also believe that destiny has a stronger role to play in my life, so never say never.”

Chahatt Khanna

The Bade Acche Lagte Hain fame actress Chahatt Khanna, is currently on a break. The beautiful actress, who is busy enjoying her motherhood phase has also bid adieu to her acting career post getting married to Farhan Mirza. She is blessed with two baby girls.
