Anushka will reportedly produce Sara’s next film
There has been no official confirmation yet
Sara is yet to make her debut with Kedarnath
Sara Ali Khan is yet to make her debut in Bollywood with Kedarnath but has reportedly finalised her second movie. Sara’s second project in Bollywood is expected to be produced by Anushka Sharma’s production firm Clean Slate Films, which the actress co-owns with her brother Karnesh. Anushka and KriArj Entertainment (Arjun N Kapoor and Prernaa Arora are the co-owners) were in the search of a heroine for their next social drama when the idea of casting Sara changed upon them. “The project will be a social drama. When Anushka, Karnesh, Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor were scouting for a female lead, they zeroed in on Sara,” a source told mid-day.
Sara is already working with Prernaa and Arjun for Kedarnath and this was Sara’s reaction when she went through the script: “When they narrated the script to Sara, she loved it,” mid-day quoted the source as saying.
According to the mid-day report, Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor was not exactly in favour of Sara signing up for her second film just yet but: “Sara didn’t agree to that. Kedarnath’s release has been delayed due to the winter in North India, pushing release to end of next year. Sara didn’t wish to wait that long,” said the source. Sara Ali Khan’s maiden Bollywood film is scheduled to release on December 21, next year.
However, there’s been no official confirmation from either of the production firms. About Sara’s second project, this is all KriArj Entertainment told Pinkvilla: “Yes we have had a casual meeting with Sara but there’s nothing more to add to this. Currently, we are focusing all our energies on our next release – Pari.” Pari is Anushka’s next supernatural thriller and is slated to release in February.
Sara Ali Khan co-stars with Sushant Sing Rajput in Kedarnath, which went on floors in September this year.
