'Padmaavat' box-office collection Day 12: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's multi-starrer collects Rs 6 crore

The journey of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat' has been full of unprecedented struggles, from violent protests by fringe groups to a long delay in being approved by the Censor Board but the film has managed to win the hearts of the audience and critics. The audiences have liked the performances of the film's leading actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and the captivating visuals of the epic story captured by Bhansali.
According to a recent report on Boxofficeindia.com, the film has collected Rs 6 crore on day 12 at the ticket window. The film has almost collected Rs 50 crore in its second week till now, taking its overall collection to Rs 209 crore. If experts are to be believed then the film may collect up to Rs 65 crore in the second week taking its collection to Rs 225 crore before Akshay Kumar's 'PadMan ' arrives.The film revolves around Rani Padmavati, the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, who is known for her beauty and valour in 13th century India. She captures the fancy of the reigning Sultan of Delhi, the tyrant Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh), who becomes obsessed with her and goes to great lengths to fulfil his greed.
Several Bollywood celebrities have come out praising the film and even took to social media to laud the performances of the actors and to call the film a visual delight because of its impeccable sets and background, which is one of the high points of every Bhansali film.
