Arvind Kejriwal slams PM Modi over action against ...

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal Sunday said that Central Bureau of Investigation director Alok Vermafaced action because he had made up his mind to register an FIR against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rafale controversy.

“Alok Verma said he will investigate this (Rafale) and Modiji woke up at 3 in the morning… couldn’t sleep at night. After waking up at three, he suspended Alok Verma,” Kejriwal said at a rally organised by the AAP in Jaipur. The AAP is contesting on 200 seats in the Rajasthan Assembly polls.

He added, “So one wonders why it was necessary to do this at 3 am, could have done after the office opened…Then it came out that Alok Verma had made up his mind that he would lodge an FIR against Modiji after the office opened that day,” said Kejriwal, referring to Verma as an “honest” officer.

On Wednesday, the government stripped CBI Director Alok Verma and Special Director Rakesh Asthana of all responsibilities and sent them on administrative leave.

Kejriwal said the people voted for the BJP in 2014 because they wanted change, but the situation for farmers worsened under the incumbent government.
